There's been an update on information regarding
The Elder Scrolls Online - Console Editions.
http://elderscrollsonline.com/en/news/category/announcementsEssentially, the Console versions have been delayed in progress, due to the difficulty in replicating the PC systems on the Xbox One and PS4 online systems, which are both different from PC and each other.
As a result it will unfortunately take a probable
Six Months before the games can be released on the Consoles. Sadly there will be no June release.
The team apologises greatly for this delay, but offer a reconcilliation.
They've managed to agree to a system with Microsoft and Sony, whereby players can purchase The Elder Scrolls Online on the PC and play that instead.
Players who purchase and play TESO by the end of June will have the option to transfer their characters to the Xbox One/PS4 versions once they are released.
Obviously people will not want to purchase the game twice, once for PC and once for Console.
So the offer being made is that those players eligible for this deal (as stated above), can pay an additional $20 and get themselves a Digital Copy of TESO on the Console.
This means that players will have TESO on both PC and one of the two Consoles, for only $20 more than the price of buying it for one.
On top of this you get your character transfers, plus 30 days of additional Game Time.
The deal isn't unbelievably grand, in that you're paying an extra $20.
But the benefit is that it's much cheaper than buying both PC and Console versions once both are released.
And it allows those expecting to get it on the Console version to have a chance to play before it's released, and get their characters where they want to.
It's a shame that the Console version is delayed, but really, we're not owed it being released in June.
It's a nuisance, but at least there's some form of reparation made.
