I skipped Dawnstar. When going West of Winterhold, I stopped at Frostflow Lighthouse and never made it to Dawnstar. Honestly, I wasn't heading anywhere specific. I noticed icons off the side of Winterhold, followed them, found more icons, until I finally stopped at Frostflow.

Sneaking is so fun, if I get caught, I just unequip all my weapons and go Werewolf.

I currently use a Daedric sword (named "Ducky's Sword of Killing"), the full Daedric armor set, and I use a dragonplate shield (named "Ducky's Defender of Worlds"), good setup, yes?
Or should I dual wield swords?

I use a bow and just sneak attack on all the people.
If I get caught, I just go werewolf and rage then run off into farther lands in search of more blood until I return to my mortal form.

Sneaking is the best thing ever. I found another huge fort with like 30 bandits outside. Nobody saw or heard anything and once I entered the fort there were quite a few dead bandits outside with their throats cut. Some had arrows through their eyes. NO DO NOT MAKE THAT JOKE

I joined the Circle, but never figured out how to become one on my own.

I think you just need to do all the quests. Check UESP.
