Tylale is telling me that apparently it's some bug where sometimes the texture on something is just the bumpmap. Said changing maps and reloading save can fix it. I was just entering Riften and noticed that at the cart to the right as you enter the central square.

but you can help out some daedric princes and stuff
and the dark brotherhood I'm pretty sure is tied in with daedra so if you join up with them as well as help the daedra it's close

DB isn't tied in with daedra, but the thieves guild is.

That was happening to the wood in the fires at the Stormcloak camps. :O

Not all of the pieces of wood, must a few were glowing.

Holy stuff, I actually had that as well before when I was playing. I came out of Blackreach through one of the exits, there were Stormcloaks, and a few with some of the wood glowing like forget. I couldn't tell for sure it was the same, although I guessed it was.

Why are all the generals in the Stormcloak camps invincible? It's not fun destroying an outpost when there's one guy that never dies.

Yeah, it's just cause they're part of quests. What SHOULD happen, is, when you side with the Imperials; all the Stormcloaks become non-essential.

Post UESP link. I have not noticed any quests related to these NPCs.
