how do you invest in a shopkeeper
I just got to 100 speech in a way you might call "cheating," although I have around 60 in smithing but that was fairly acheived, granted with iron daggers
I ran out of money before I could finish :I
You get in Halted Stream Camp. It changes iron(ore) -> Silver -> gold
does it go further or is that the end of it?

You have to get the perk for it and a dialog option should come up while talking to one.

Not sure, think that is the end of it, might not be though.

I know, I already have the perk
I figured it out right before reading your post
I guess I just can't invest with innkeepers or that guy at the black-briar meadery, they were the first I checked

The invest option isn't available for all merchants. Inns and Meaderies aren't shops, they're specialized businesses. Also, don't pickpocket it back. They won't have it any longer and you can't give it back.

why would I pickpocket it back?
I wouldn't give them my money just because, I'm doing it out of the goodness of my beautiful Argonian heart~ <3 (and also because I want more money)

stuff, Skyrim's broken.

I downloaded the "Many More NPCs in the Wild" mod a while ago (saying this because I suspect this is the problem) but I later removed it because it was too chaotic and uncontrollable (Stormcloaks and bandits constantly invading Solitude etc.). I've removed it now, but now I can't fast travel or save anymore. If I do, the game closes without a notification. It doesn't freeze, it just closes.

Ya, you probably had NPCs saved that no longer exist or something. Bad idea removing a mod like tat all will-nilly, son.

I was just laying down and then an awesome idea for a plugin popped into my head.
I can't even put it down in words, but I managed to envision a trailer that would be made for the mod. It would be a quest mod that comes in multiple parts. The first part would just be a house mod that involves a simple quest to go talk to this guy who gives you a house and tells you that a threat greater than any that this world has yet faced shall emerge after the fall of Alduin.
It would involve the Dwemer returning and stuff. And then the other parts of the mod would come out far later, the house part of the mod would mostly serve as a teaser for the next part.

I hope I actually have the patience to make at least the house portion of this at some point.
forget it im going to start it now.

Calling the house portion of the mod "The Stars Be Damned : A New Home", the stars be damned bit is because the guy that tells you about the threat tells you that he saw your destiny in the stars and determined that you would die trying to defeat whatever it is and you try to defy it.

So, what do I do now? I do NOT want to keep the mod, because I want to actually be able to walk somewhere without getting raped by bandits and Forsworn (Forsworn spawn outside the Reach as well btw).

I feel great, I just tricked a Deadric lord.
Slight spoilers for a small mission perhaps.

In the house of horrors mission, before you're supposed to beat a poor old man to his death to give his soul to the Deadra, I conjured a soul trap on him, so I snatched the soul. The Deadra later says he's going to Oblivion to pick up his soul, but I stored it in a gem.

Surely being used to enchant a shield is better than being a slave to some Deadric arsehole, right?

Finally continued the main quest. Got dat notched pickaxe.

I've had dreams about this game twice in a row
the night before last, I dreamed that the bee in a jar I had in my home ended up in somebody else's home when I went to steal their stuff
I actually do have a bee in a jar in my home though
last night I dreamed that I used a worktable to turn elf ears into moonstone

You have a dream of where I lost my horse?
