Yesss

Waiting for dawnguard so bad

Mainly because I wield Dawn Breaker.

Not a lot. The rap was pretty good at describing the dlc.

The line everyone seems to like is actually pretty generic and could have been thought up when Skyrim itself was first announced.

Is on-horse combat currently available?

Im pretty sure the Beta on steam allows it

How do I opt into the beta?

Figured it out.

What about Oblivion do so many people like more than Skyrim? I miss the leveling, but over all, I prefer Skyrim. And I liked Cyrodiil way more.

Im sure a large portion of it belongs to nostalgia. Personally, I have a lot of love for Oblivion because it was one of the first RPGs I ever played.
Skyrim is still a great game, but it has a few flaws that im not sure how one could even fix.

Oblivion was seemingly more immersive than Skyrim, but it had the stufftiest gameplay and characters ever.

Pretty much this, still better than Skyrim imo.

"Well met."
"I saw a mudcrab the other day. Horrible creatures!"
"[COUGH]"
"Farewell."

It's these little things that give Oblivion charm.

I'm not talking about just regular quests. End game or in this case end-dlc choices usually stick.
in this case I guess.
but huge things at the end of games or DLC usually happen regardless of what other choices you made
you always kill Alduin in Skyrim, and help the Brotherhood of Steel in Broken Steel
I'm pretty sure you always defeat whoever in the Knights of the Nine

just saying that there aren't usually choices that end up affecting the rest of gameplay
at least nothing as huge as the sun disappearing

xbox users can sign up for dawnguard beta: http://dawnguardbeta.elderscrolls.com/
complete with microsoft achievements and it's 100% free if you make it in.

Oblivion's "charm" was just handicapped.

I barely did the main questline. The game is built for people who don't do every single quest currently available. I'm at a high level, full legendary set of armor. The only thing I'm missing is enchantments or whatever on them, but I didn't specialize in that.
