if i go to my local gamestop at midnight without a preorder, do you guys think i'll still be able to buy a copy?

Yes but they will make you wait until everybody who arrived with pre-orders gets their game first.

Usually it goes like this: 10:00pm-11:58pm Gamestop gives out numbers to people who have pre-orders. Get there earlier and you'll get a lower number. At midnight they will make everyone line up numerically, number 1 being first of course. (If there is a lot of people they will make you line up outside the store and let only a couple people in at a time.) When it's your turn you give the cashier your numbered receipt and money if you didn't pay it off yet, then they will give you your game and ask if you want to buy the guide.

If you go up to that cashier without a number they will make you wait to let someone with a number get their game, even if you have a pre order. (you'r fault for not coming earlier)
If you don't have a pre-order you're better off just going to walmart and buying it there, it will probably be quicker.

yeah walmart will be open, you should be able to go and buy it like any regular game.

hell, even some gas stations might have it behind their counter.

content doesn't require a lot of space. dungeons are basically just the same objects placed in different areas no matter how unique you go, it's still a simple process to create and save one, very little space each. most of the 5gb is audio, textures, and models.

This. Seriously.

I've seen comprehensive mods that add many new quests and dozens of hours of gameplay but are only 1-2mb in size because they use Oblivion's assets.

if walmart employees are handicapped and don't put the game out on their shelves at midnight or something, then you'll just have to wait until morning, or go to the gamestop and move to the back of the line.

I've never played any Elder Scrolls game ever.

I know maybe three things so far;
  • It's made by Bethesda studios.
  • It is a highly popular RPG series
  • Guards will stop you from shoplifting flowers from the forest (exaggeration, but referencing "STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM")

What can I expect to see in Skyrim?

i've bought myself cheese-its, sun drop, BBQ chips, and kit-kats for friday night

forget visiting my family, i'm staying at the house this weekend and playing SKRYIM

guns

What can I expect to see in Skyrim?
  • Visceral first person melee oriented combat.
  • Extremely large and immersive environment.
  • Five big walled cities and plenty of smaller settlements, each with it's own residents and factions, as well as it's own economy; all of which can be influenced by your actions.
  • Well over 100 unique dungeons, and hundreds of interiors overall.
  • Flexible character development and growth.
  • Large amounts of NPCs, all with schedules and lives of their own.
  • Massive selection of armor, weapons, clothes, potions, ingredients, books, and spells, each with it's own fully detailed 3D model.
  • A long main quest, but the freedom to do anything you want instead, like any of the hundreds of other side quests.
  • A wide selection of guilds to join, each with it's own long questline.

If I think of anything else, ill add it.
