Got this game yesterday, took me about 9 hours to beat the main quest.

So I got this game today, and I went through everything up to the part where that dude leads you to his house. Then I decided to explore the mountain that is on the left of where you first enter the village. I went inside the 2nd castle you find. I went through it until the part where there is a cage and a lever. When I press the lever, a bunch of arrows just come at me. I couldn't figure out what to do. Can someone tell me what to do?

You are in bleak falls barrow?
If you are there should be three stone obelisk tyoe things to your left with symbols adorning it. The symbols match those seen on the area above the lever and the one fallen symbol in the middle which is next to the lever, arrange the symbols on the obelisks to match the order of the other symbols and pull the lever.

Barely, I checked mine and I have same specs as you, I cant run it because 512 mb video ram (you have) is required for minimum and I only have 258 mb video ram

Upgrade to DirectX 11 if you have problems. Should fix some problems.

So I got past the cage and went down the stairs that are on the left of where you first go through the tunnel that the cage blockled off. I killed all of the dogs that run up the stairs and attack you. I went through the cave that is in front of the entrance that is in the bottom of the stairs. I went left to where there are cobwebs that you have to use your weapon to break through. I broke the cobwebs, and the giant spider that comes from the roof came out. I killed it. Then I broke the cobwebs that where behind where the spider would be looking if it had just came down. The guy that was in the cobwebs fell down, and started running through the tunnel that would be behind the spider if it had just came down. I follow him. Then when I killed him in the first room you go in, the enemies that wake up killed me. So I respawned, and went through everything until the spider. I tried to kill it, but it killed me easily. It killed me several times after that. What is the trick to killing that spider?

It's a frostbite spider. Frost. Use a fire spell, much more effective than weapons at lower levels.
