where are the guild halls in oblivion D:

Arena: Arena District, Imperial City(no stuff Sherlock)
Thieves Guild: None, but operate out of Waterfront District of Imperial City. If questline is complete, guild hall is built in Waterfront
Dark Brotherhood: Cheydinhal Sanctuary under Abandoned House in Cheydinhal, west of the chapel iirc

I feel like some of the references in Skyrim to previous Elder Scrolls games are a little forced.

I think I prefer the actual map of the province like they did in Oblivion, rather than an overhead pan-over of the entire province. It looks nice, sure, but it can be a bit disorienting at times. TESV itself came with a paper map of Skyrim in the exact same style as used in Oblivion; why couldn't they use that in-game?

forget the in-game map, I pause it then use the paper map that came with the game.

But what about locations like caves that are in unmarked locations on the paper map? How do you find them?

Guessing and exploring

Well I still think Oblivion got the map just right.

Besides the slow-ass cursor move speed
(Console)

I think they should have kept it.
But I've grown to like the new map.

Such as?

I haven't noticed anything except a few references to the Oblivion CrCIA.

Seems Skyrim is lacking the levitation spells from Morrowind (Morrowind had those, right?) and the disintegrate armor spells from Oblivion.

Since equipment has no quality value in Skyrim anymore, disintegrate armor would be useless.

Yeah. I guess it could work if the spell had a chance of adding a damage "improvement," which is basically the opposite of forge-made improvements, lowering damage/defensive value until you repair it again.

What if it's not improved? It'd be useless for the game to even have for non-smithing-profession players, and I'm certain NPCs don't actually improve anything.

I mean it would work like improving armor does right now, except it does the opposite. If the disintegrate spell works, it could turn a "steel shield" into a "steel shield (damaged)" or whatever.

Then that would be exactly quality values. Except without an X/100 like it shows in Oblivion.
