Beta testing will begin sometime in 2013 and will feature both closed and open phases. The game has officially been scheduled for release later that year.

I think you're preparing a bit too much. Skyrim isn't nearly as unforgiving as Fallout 3.
Then again maybe I'm just playing both games wrong. I don't know.

you can make it unforgiving through the power of mods. it would be awesome doing a first playthrough with more difficulty mods so you're actually cautious when going through a dungeon.

I always pick the Greybeards, because the Blades don't do jack stuff for me.
