Firefight for Slayer

We all remember Zor's old firefight mod, with the hose and the wand. It was one of the most popular gamemodes a while back. But then it was lost when the addon packaging system changed. It was never ported over properly, and it's v9 version broke kill messages, caused console spam and crashed the game. This was the version I first saw.

I thought, why not clean up this mod? Why not turn it into somthing more balanced and fun?

So I turned it into a gamemode for Slayer and TDM.

Features:
- Limited Matches! You start with 0 and you can pick them up via the "FF_AddMatches" event. (And also "FF_setMatches")
- Fire Hose that needs to be plugged in with the "FF_setHosePluggedIn" event. This event is a bool and allows a lot of creativity.
- A bucket that works through melee
- A water system for fire
- More realistic real-time fire
   - Fire spreads more than once
   - Fire spreads to new bricks
   - Fire can only break bricks at the top of a stack
   - Bricks touching the bottom of the map can't catch fire
   - Bricks sprayed with the pearl FX can't catch fire
   - Fire doesn't scorch bricks - No special colorset required.
- Auto minigame reset and global fire put out when too many bricks have been destroyed by fire.
- Lots of settings: Fire spread and killtime is fully adjustable, among other things
- Not a stuffty remake of zor's

Planned features:
- Auto save reloading on round end
- Fixed having to press ctrl-k to spawn properly in the minigame
- More advanced tools
- Bonus fire-related admin equipment
- Ultimately a seperate version for Space Guy's TDM
- Models for items

Tell me what you think, and your ideas for this mod. The test server will be up every day at some point between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM UK time.

i thought this was going to be a players vs bots gamemode
with wave survival and such

but seems cool

Hope this works out unlike the other fire mods.


Update: Added FirebombL and WaterbombL to the gamemode.

EDIT: Also added fire damage, HUD and auto-reload.

Lol no. Fire spreads like in the normal fire mod.

Edit: Well actually, that is a lie. Fire spread is different in this mod. It is more dynamic. In other firefight mods, fire only spreads from a brick once before breaking it. In this mod, fire will spread AGAIN if it cannot destroy the brick it is on.

Not with the WaterbombL. It has a slightly larger radius than the firebombL and puts everything around it's impact location out instantly.

But with the hose and bucket, yes.

This looks really fun. Scripting seems great, the only thing that bugs me are the models foe the items. Some are default retextures, and I'm sure someone would be willing to make better ones for you.

individually hitting bricks is a huge problem for me and others, im sure. especially for recessed, hidden bricks. not everybody should have waterbombs, and the waterbomb would basically make the bucket useless.

They're meant to be a higher tier weapon that is either hidden in the map or leader exclusive. Also, you can paint hidden bricks pearl to make them fireproof.

I was planning to find a modeller for it. That reminds me, I should add that to the todo list.
