Here I will post the latest info on the Battlefield 3 beta. Well at least as much as I can find. Please pm me if you have any questions.

WHATS GOIN ON: Karl-Magnus Troedsson, General Manager at DICE, has explained how the Frostbite 2.0 engine delivers such amazing animations in Battlefield 3.

According to him the company it obsessed with visuals, but they don’t want to just provide detailed images, they want to produce the most realistic animation possible. Luckily for them EA already had everything they needed to achieve this. “We were surprised and happy to discover that it was in the EA Sports games,” he said. “So we worked with the sports team, we worked with a group within EA called EA Tech, and we implemented the ANT animation system into Frostbite 2 – we’re the first FPS to be using this animation technology, and for us, it’s a big, big difference; how the soldiers move, how they go into cover, how they look under suppressing fire … it really takes you out of the uncanny valley.”

I forgot, how do you put a name in it? Like so instead of the full link I can just put BF3 BETA or something.

WHATS GOIN ON: Patrick Liu, Producer at DICE, has assured console players that they won’t be getting less of a game than their PC counter-parts.

When asked by Edge if fewer online players and smaller maps meant that the console version will offer less of an experience he replied, “They’re definitely not getting less of a game.”

“It has the same amount of destruction and the same amount of visual fidelity. It’a also a misconception I’ve seen on the internet that the console version won’t have jets – that’s not true.” he said in their latest issue. “We’ve scaled the maps accordingly for console so it makes the pacing all right and the balancing is good. If you play a big Conquest map then the map is balanced accordingly.”
