Author Topic: So far Blocklands smorgasbord of DM's suck  (Read 2683 times)

You know what these need?

Hats.

And crafting.

I've done a ton of knife TDMs and DMs, and occasionally I got a good build.
I just cannot host; no time.

Knife TDM's are probably one of the worst kind, whats so fun about jumping around with one weapon?

I think jorgurs(?) dogfight was one of the best. the builds didn't look that nice but that didnt stop it from being fun.

I'll host Maverick's old TDMs again, if anyone wants to come re-live the v8 days.

And it's the CoD community all over again. They yell at you when you survive longer than them until you "achualy play the gam nub".

Maybe they're just not to my taste, but I've noticed recurring patterns in all of the TDMs and DMs I have joined.

They're flashy... lots of blocks, colors, and eye candy... yet really lacking interaction.

Why is this? Has the BL community really accepted that TDM's should this be boring and uneventful? Every TDM I join, it's *walking... walking... walking... oh look, an enemy! Oh wait, that's just a tree... walking walking walking.. an enemy! **In combat for 5 seconds** Walking again... walking... walking*. Really?!

For god sakes... the funnest TDM I've played so far had a 2 minute heli flight to the enemy. What the hell?!

If anyone knows of any TDMs that break away from this... PM me. I'm really getting bored. I would create my own, but it seems even with my best efforts, the community hates my builds.

Some travaling is realistic, and thus fun.

I need to either

A)Finish my latest map (Project name: Celestial toyshop)
B)Host one of my older DMs, IE LT_Derezz, Neonapartments, etc.

Or I could try to make a TDM based off that one dogfight game on Roblox, that stuff's classic.

Working on a remake of my Urban TDM.
Unfortunately, I don't think I can host it because of the lag that everyone gets from it.

My TDM was quite respected, someone went on and made a YouTube video of it and later BlockStar offered to host it for me. Encouragement of team-based combat made it quite fun for everyone.

A huge dessert battlefield with tanks, jeeps and the occasional biplane. and two small towers in between the bases. Your goal is to capture the enemy flag and bring it the whole way back. Using events I made a jail system where you can capture an enemy. Thanks to VCE, keeping an enemy in the jail cell long enough scores tons of points.

you'll be seeing a stuff ton more of tdm's if blockombat ever comes out

it's a shame it'll most likely be wasted on damn default/slightly edited afghan builds

That sounds pretty dam awesome. I'd like to play that one myself.

I didn't do a good job of desribing it there, you'll just have to play it yourself and find out, later I may post screenshots.

...and I personally think the Grapple Knife DM's are terrible.

All of the nerds who got "pro" at it talk too much stuff and win by spawn killing as many people as they can in the first few seconds of a match.

Pretty lame imo

I only join DMs that have lots of people in them. You should too, if you haven't already. And here's a tip, Heed's server kinda sucks.
