>Implying all people are bullied the same
>Implying all victims think the same

I was not trying to imply that. My apologies if it appeared that way. No I was simply stating what I would expect to come as a reaction of seeking help from some adult with authority. You would be right to say that not all people are bullied in the same way, in which case I suppose some other form of action would have to take place.

I wish bullied people actually got more assistance on the subject, seeing as they won't make it far being depressed because people picked on them.

I think society a whole would do better if Respect and Pacifism were a recurring theme in schools.

My view on cyber bullying

Get-get-get-get over it. Seriously, I agree with fred, if their parents aren't going to teach their kids that getting called named and picked on once in a while is part of life then they will do stupid stuff.

> once in a while.
I know of people who are bullied constantly, for small things like being gay.
Seriously, the ultimate solution here is for us to move on as a species and stop being forgettards, and stop bullying people for no good reason. Some people are more sensitive than others. Just stop bullying and this won't happen. There's no point in bullying anyway.
Sure, I'm crying for world peace, but a Swede can dream, can't he?

My perspective is this:
Everything on the internet is bullstuff(or research).
No one on the internet is serious.

If you can't take that, you should maybe, oh, I don't know, GET OFF YOUR COMPUTER?

Every goddamn problem in the world could be solved using that philosophy.

"Ugh this game is so unbalanced"
"Stop playing it."

"Ugh this guy is such a prick"
"Don't talk to him."

"This guy is sending me threatening text messages"
"Block him."

It's that loving simple.

The game thing I agree with.
But if the 'guy' would just not be a douche in the first place, nothing would have ever happened and the victim can get on with their lives normally.

Parents don't alwasy handle how the kids react to name calling. Also, it's not being "picked on once in a while" it's being bullied to the part where they don't want to deal with people anymore.

Respect, yes. PacifCIAm, no. Violence is a part of human nature. If people don't want to talk about it, they'd fight instead. Although I think students should have a more controlled way physically to vent anger on one another.

So you would be saying that if something bugs us we should avoid it? Let me point out the obvious flaw here.

"Well it looks like the national socialist's are treating me unfairly I better leave their internment camp."

Yes I realize that being the holocaust and logging on to the internet do not bear a close resemblance . But basically the solution you are implying only works in some cases. There would be much better ways to go about problems than simply avoiding them.

There's this magical thing called perspective.
Believe it or not, maybe the guy doesn't think he's being a douche?

Your argument is pretty much, "If we never invented weapons, no one would have been killed!"
People will be how they want to be.
If they want to be a douche, let them be a douche; in reality they're only hurting themselves.

People will only "Be how they want to be" because we don't expect them to change.

Well, no.
Shooting at a range, at targets? It's fun! It's a good way to promote accuracy and stuff.
Shooting other people? Not good.
I'm not saying it's bad to have invented weapons. I'm saying it's bad to have used them for bad purposes.

big difference being free will; you choose to log on to the internet, you don't choose to go to a concentration camp.

Some things can't be avoided. But for everything else, it works pretty damn well.

People will only "Be how they want to be" because we don't expect them to change.
We don't expect them to change because that won't do a damned thing.
Douchebags will be douchebags.
Avoid douchebags, profit.

You have forgotten to take into consideration the other person that would be doing the bullying. Chances are that these two people know each other outside the internet so he might just decided to make fun of him at school, and school is not a choice of free will. You must go to school until you either graduate or drop out.
