The lockscreen? :L
Or your apps?
Because the notification center is available no matter where you are on your iPhone.
I would consider "being on the home screen" as being on the home screen once you have unlocked your phone, not dragging the info bar.

Oh, so your apps.
Then the notification center is still available :o

IOS is stupid, cool apps horrible phone.. Go with android not as many apps but you can do SOOO much with android.

I agree, you should get an Android phone, they are great phones.
Apple is a company that likes to restrict you and limit you to what they feel like. With Android, you can do just about anything.
I feel like my Android is a touch-screen mini-computer. When I use an iPhone, it is just a smartphone to me, for several reasons.

commas everywhere, oh god.
better

Android = very nice functionality, pretty decent customization, a pain in the ass sometimes
iOS = Smooth, aesthetically nice, great userbase and app store
iOS Jailbroken = iOS + amazing customization and added features
the userbase creates the app store
yeah that
c:

jailbroken iOS is probably too close to Android for anyone to notice
you can probably customize that stuff and make it look like a goddamn Android OS, stuff

I agree that iOS can look loveier most of the time, but you can go so far with customization in Android, to the point where it looks loveier.
I have to give it to Apple though, their app store full of better quality apps, but not by too much.

Or you could just get a flip phone.
These are what they call "feature phones" and they are generally given away for free nowadays. There are also a couple slide/flip phones that ship with android on them that are also free but they are slow and usually come in some stupid shape or color, like a weird purple oval. They're budget smartphones that really aren't all that smart.

I can't say I'm a big fan of flip phones, if you drop them the screen tends to snap off. In fact, in general I do not like flip or sliding phones since they are prone to mechanical failures that generally render them useless (like what happened in the main post). Of course touch screen phones tend to have breakable glass and can be expensive, so it's a trade off. If you've never owned a smart phone or some other portable electronic with a giant screen before make sure you get a nice case with some kind of screen cover. Don't get a super cheap one. A flip cover or holster is nice to protect the screen and something with a belt clip will free up your pockets.

You can also by plastic screen covers that stick onto your screen and will help keep finger prints and dust off your screen as well as hold all the glass in place and stop you from cutting your fingers if you manage to shatter the screen.

Don't buy your case or screen cover from Best Buy, and if they try to sell you a $20 screen cover or any other over priced accessories say no. In general you shouldn't buy anything from Best Buy since it's all over priced (except, which will probably shock everyone here, computer parts which they tend to sell at a fair market price in store, comparable to Newegg or TigerDirect, depending on what you're buying). Finally don't buy a screen cover that requires any kind of fluid to apply. These are stupid, expensive, provide no benefit over a standard cover, and can damage your phone if you do it wrong.

I had some kind of samsung phone (my first one), I left it in my pocket and went to sleep.
I WET THE BED AND DESTROYED IT. Irony.
