At the moment the game is at alpha state and will not show the finished product.

Right now all you do is build a ship with blocks and just blow stuff up with it.

What is Blockade Runner?

Inspired by Infiniminer and Minecraft’s voxel engine, Blockade Runner is the beginning of a Multi and Singleplayer First Person Adventure Space Sim that will feature fully destructible, operational, crewable 'living' starships in a massive and procedurally generated galaxy.

Is Blockade Runner free?

The lite version is free and will have most of the full version's features, but will remain about 4-6 weeks behind the latest version of the game.

When is Blockade Runner expected to be finished?

The game's scope and vision is a task that will takes years to accomplish, with the first Release to be finished by next year.

The game is being released in yearly parts and you have to pay for each of them!

At the moment its a sandbox game and you just build and destroy ships.

WHAT IS BLOCKADE RUNNER R1?

Blockade Runner Release 1 is a year-long development project currently in development, followed by subsequent releases every year to bolster the game's features, capabilities and performance.  Our focus with the first half of Release 1 will be the starships, the initial game engine, and the beginnings of the first person adventure mode.

The second half and releases beyond are planned to introduce elements such as full interstellar exploration, network multiplayer, AI-manned stations, the ability to land your ship on planets, and much more as the game continues to grow!

The game is 10 dollars

Basically, it's a game probably inspired by Minecraft [Before "BUT MINECRAFT DIDN'T INVENT THE BLOCK GENRE", there has been a huge boom in the amount of games in it after Minecraft, that's why i said "probably"] That instead of Terraria, Manic Digger, or any stuff like that, it actually has a pretty original concept with the "destroyable blocks/voxel" game style, and it looks like it could turn out pretty cool!

Features currently:
Buildable ships!
Weapons that lets you break pieces off ships, and not the entire thing!
Full ship rotation!

I'm far too lazy to make my own thread, but some members were discussing this at Facepunch, and since obviously we have a huge minecraft fanbase, i thought i should post it here.

From what i can see, there's also a power system being made in this too, solar panels can be seen in some of the videos.

Is it obscenely laggy like Shores of Hazeron?

I'm pretty sure multiplayer code hasn't been done yet for this, but seeing how Shores of Hazeron uses almost prehistoric networking code, this would probably be a bit better.

Also, for anyone who's just heard about something involving a terrible purchase model, the staff changed it, it's going to be pay-once game now.

Looks cool. Can't you land on meteorites and mine the goodies n' stuff?

You probably will be able to.

This looks like it's going to be awesome. I might pay for the full version, if I like the lite version.

already got full version, pretty fun.

I've got the game. It doesn't have much to offer currently but I'm investing in it.

Never seen the game, but it looks badass.

9/10 if I may...

link to the lite version?

Lite version doesn't work. I tell it to run, all I get is a prompt saying it's stopped working. Same results when I tell it to run as an administrator. I knew I did it wrong.
It looks very promising and very fun, though I suspect multiplayer will be the same as any sandbox multiplayer game. Every person who comes along attempts(and usually succeeds) to destroy my ship.
