Besides, who would want to use the space bar for an event when it does something already? That would be poor planning.

This was the first thing that popped into mind when I read OP. This even is indeed needed.

Especially since you can have super secret password keypads that are invisible, you just have to know what part of the wall the events are on and no one will ever know it's there.

I want to use this with my piano/harpsichord, so that it becomes easier to play.

this is possible, it would just need a client sided script for it to work
probably prompt the client to hit a key, then they hit one and it wouldn't do something like jump/move, but send a command to the server

Actually, if you use the print GUI, you could do this completely server sided.

Main reason I want to use it is because I want to remake a working guitar hero game for blockland, lol
