Oh god my music teacher taught me this exact image. Well, not the image in the thread, but why commas, are important. Except commas in music are slurs, and notes are words.
Put slurs in the wrong places or not at all changes the musics meaning. /musicnerd.  EX:
(Random music piece translates to Lets Eat, Grandpa!)
Lets eat, grandpa! =! Lets eat Grandpa!

I wouldn't say slurs correspond with commas, I'd say a comma's more like a bar line.
