Author Topic: Spaceship-based fighting game.  (Read 1478 times)

Hello, like my previous thread a while ago, I am on the search for a game involving controlling a spaceship and fighting other spaceships. No, I do not want to spend $130 a year with EVE, Artemis spaceship game requires 2-5 people, so I can't play it often. Oh, and also don't suggest Gratuitous Space Battles, that is not what I'm looking for. So, I ask you, what is a good non-flash spaceship game.

Flotilla. Search it on Steam.

You will not regret buying it.
It still has an active modding community which means that, once you have downloaded a mod (I recommend Discovery), you will still be able to play the online multiplayer

This. Best ship game i have ever played in my life, Would play again 10/10

Checked out Gratuitous Space Battles and Freelancer, both look fun. Thanks for mentioning GSB Bithead and thanks for posting Freelancer Tokthree.

i been looking for that :o

It appears that I will have to deal with lack of big space cruisers, for it seems they are not in any games.

No problem, my only problem is that you can't actually control the ships.

Try, Nexus the jupiter incident.

Yes you can control it.

Freespace 2 is one of the best spaceship combat simulators out there.

As Tokthree said, you should definitely get Freelancer. That is one of the best games I have ever played in my life I love Freelancer <3 Especially with Discovery mod on the official Discovery 24/7 RP server.

Or try Flotilla!
Downloading demo.
Also: I guess I'll have to take a look at freelancer.

x3 terran conflict if you want a very deep, customizable, and pretty spess game
evochron legends if you want semi-realistic insanely fast paced spess dogfights and planetary landings

q1-q2 2012 will also have x: rebirth, which is shaping up like freelancer 2

X:Rebirth looks like a good game.
