"I've tried a variable sweep, Jacov. That's the reason I went colorblind, it cut deep into my eye. I nearly died, but I got it replaced."

I sigh and continue walking to my barrack. I lay down on my bunk and flip open the "Aviator's Monthly" magazine, reading about a new aircraft called the F-35 JSF.
"Mind if I take a look at that?"
I look at the magazine and see the F-35 JSF.
"How much is it?"

"Apparently she is still a prototype. About 120 million USD, estimated. Even better is that some of them will be able to do a vertical takeoff, like the Harrier. Except they might be able to actually fight. On top of that she's gonna be stealthy as well."

"Won't beat the F-62 Windwaker or G-37 Render."

"For some reason I knew you were gonna say that."

"Eh, it's mainly because it's true. Render was only a total of five grand and she beats the sound barrier in half, Windwaker was free and had a soundwave state."

I order my crewchief to get lug out of the hangar so I can do some touch n goes. I do some preflight checks and in no time I'm in the air.

"Anyhow, I might get working on a new plane if I get the parts. Anyhow, I've pretty much resigned being the Silver Baron. If your captain makes the right choice, I'm considerably able to be a engineer or multirole."

"Eh, it's mainly because it's true. Render was only a total of five grand and she beats the sound barrier in half, Windwaker was free and had a soundwave state."

"Well, your smarter than the guys working in the skunkworks, then. Good for you."

I take the magazine back and put it under my pillow.

"You think the ISAF can afford it?"

*laughs* "They gave us Phantoms, third-gen interceptors with turbojet engines! You expect them to buy us something that expensive?"

"Good point. If not for this goddamn economic situation maybe we could afford them."

"Yeah. Maybe I could persuade them to get a couple F-16s. Hell, maybe even a Silent Eagle or two."

"Yeah. Maybe I could persuade them to get a couple F-16s. Hell, maybe even a Silent Eagle or two."
"I'd like a modified Silent Eagle, modified to be lighter, faster, more maneuverable, and able to carry a heavier payload. That would be badass."

"Have fun losing the stealthiness, then. Those lock alarms get awful annoying after some time."
