Author Topic: I need to change myself IRL  (Read 2828 times)

Lift weights.

I don't know why people don't like lifting weights. it's fun and rewarding!

there's a simple answer to this, veg.
the most common way to avoid depression is to not think about becoming depressed.
if you have reliable irl friends that would hang out with you anytime, take advantage of that. go out and chill at someones house and veg on his couch playing a 360/ps3 for 6 hours.

go out and walk around town man.
when I lived in small town Hayfield, MN, most of the time the only thing you could do was walk around town and enjoy the air or go to some friends house and waste your life honing your e-skills on CoD.

if you're looking to mold a future for yourself in a career, choose whatever classes fit your interest. do not do anything therapeutic. they will only tell you the same things: "think happy thoughts for the rest of your life"
this never works.

if you want to go for a computing career and it makes you happy, by god go for it. who's going to stop you?
any extra curricular activities you're interested in? track/cc? basketball? football?
any school sport will boost your self esteem and self confidence. i suggest going out for something.
weight lifting classes also benefit you physically and emotionally. with a strong body, self confidence is boosted quite a bit.
i HIGHLY recommend you sign up for after school activities.

and as far as relationships go, don't stress yourself over it. you'll make it worse that way, and when you get the opportunity to get a gal, you'll forget up because you were so hard on yourself before.
the best i can say as far as getting a girl with you, just be yourself. don't try to act like some wigger douche to attract her. this never works and she'll only want you for your snake, not to be committed or anything.

sorry if i ignored the rest of the thread but after reading the OP i just had to bust out some paragraphs.

tl;dr Don't worry about it too much, you still have a long life. Try at some girls and work out maybe if you feel out of shape. Working out makes you feel better.

Even better, get a job, makes you feel productive.

Even better, get a job, makes you feel productive.
this also works.
at your young age, money doesn't come around a lot.
getting a job half-way through highschool grants you some walkin' around money since you really have no bills to pay like us adults...

ugh bills
;-;

Don't be a pusillanimous individual.  Do whatever makes you feel right.  Feel like hanging out with friends after school?  Do it.  Feel like going to the library during free time instead of having a second lunch?  Do it.  Feel like saying no to durgz and alkohols?  Do it.  Do what your gut and your mind tell you, but that doesn't mean if your gut tells you to get in a car wreck that you should do it.
Do what your gut tells you but don't let irrational decisions cloud yourself.

Don't dress like a homo.  Don't look like unattractive.  Wear contacts.  Wear decent clothes instead.  Wash your face daily.  Take a shower daily.

Do something that would attract women.  Sports are highly recommended, but anything that's pretty much extracurricular will work.  Hell, you can manage a sports team and just say that you wanted to be a part of it but didn't want to be in the action.

If your school has mini-dances/mixers where guys and girls just meet up and dance or w/e, go to those.  Women always go there, at least a decent amount unless your school sucks at hosting.  Dance with girls, get numbers, profit.

Don't over brown townyze relationships.  And don't be overbearing.  And don't act like a pusillanimous individual.
When I say don't act like a pusillanimous individual, I mean don't sulk your shoulders, be passive, etc.  Men are supposed to have broad shoulders, always try for what they want, and do what they think is right.  You don't have to be a huge guy to have broad shoulders.  My dad's genes include having smaller shoulders, and unfortunately me and my brother both got that.  Doesn't stop me from making my shoulders not look like I'm depressed.

Choose weight-lifting and conditioning classes instead of computer classes.
That most likley wont work, it would take a few months and wouldn't gaurentee you the desired results.
-
How would weight lifting not give desired results? You're doing it to get ripped/get bigger, which is what it will do.
And of course it's going to take a few months, even if he decides another approach, he wont change instantly.

Wear contacts.
this is kind of irrelevant, but I've been seriously considering this because my glasses piss me off. are they difficult to place?

Wait so is the problem that you don't like any girls?

The first few times, but after that they're like tiny droplets of heaven made specifically to give you vision

to help op:
GET A HOBBY - Find something you're good at and like doing to occupy free time
LISTEN TO MUSIC - Find a favorite genre and listen to music more often
EAT BETTER - Wholesome meals, wheats, dairies, meats. Keep junk confections to a minimum
EXERCISE - Run laps, ride a bike, lift weights or do push-ups. Energy = good moods
SMILE MORE - Even a pretend smile gets you somewhere

do they ever slip like, behind the eye or something?

do they ever slip like, behind the eye or something?

Yeah and sometimes they can swivel all the way around and sever the optic nerve!

do they ever slip like, behind the eye or something?

lol no. They slip out of place every once in a grand while, but you fix that by using your finger to move it back.
