Well I did skip pre-algebra so maybe 8th grade. Definitely not high school though.

In private schools we did this in 7th grade.

We started learning variables in 6th grade even.

I'm in 8th grade and have no clue what this is.
I'm in 8th and I did this 2 years ago.

stuff i'm a sophomore and I never learned how to add variable fractions and stuff
