I just noticed that while playing ArmA II, that my headphones starting making a loud cracking noise. I thought that it could be the jacks for my headphone and microphone, or USB port was acting up, so I blew them out. I then plugged the headphones in, and they still made the cracking noise. I tried turning down the volume on the 'Chat' setting (this is a Turtle Beach by the way), because that usually causes static, but that didn't work. I also tried turning down the volume for ArmA just in case it was that. Nothing.
I tried checking the microphone and making sure that it worked, and it did. But what I did realize is that when I mute my microphone, the cracking doesn't happen. When I unmute it and disturb the headphones though, such as picking it up, it starts to crackle.
Could somebody help me out? These were 70 bucks, and have lasted me a good year. I don't want to have to go out and buy another pair.
EDIT: I just put them on, and everything seems to work normally, which is strange. I'm going to monitor them and see how everything turns out. It could be that a cord in my microphone module had gotten loose, because I pressed down on it a few minutes ago, and the crackling kinda stopped.
