Not really, your entire flash drive would be full after the mandatory updates.
Plus, SATA is much faster than USB.

Well I was forced to run Windows 7 off a 13GB HDD for way too long due to my motherboard before I got a new one. It worked, but it wasn't pleasant.

should i be concerned if i sometimes hear beating noises inside my computer and sometimes when i start it up there's a low humming noise that's also a bit like a buzz?

or am i just paranoid
