What?
Whats the problem
the fact you could get a much better computer for the price.

It's sold out right now, but it's quite better than what you're looking at. Plus, the 600W PSU will allow upgrades in the future.

is this good graphix card :-)

Very good for the price.

Give me the best processor I can get for around $140

My AMD Phenom XII x4 3.5ghz processor came broken with a missing pin so I will be getting a new one.
You could RMA the old one as it is a fault of theirs, not yours.
But $140, so long as it is an AM3 slot, you could get a Phenom II x4 955 or something like that.

Ugh I aways get DNS Trobbles on my home network
Any tips?
I need more detail, sorry. What DNS server is having 'trobbles'? What does it effect? How does it fail/whatever?

my heatsink fan also completely blew and couldn't clip into place what-so-ever

and my motherboard broke, today is the first day back on my computer since christmas because i got a new one lol

I've had terrible experiences and nothing ever goes right for me

thank god my neighbor is really smart with computers, he fixed up everything for me. You know what most comptuer services charge to install hardware? $50 per piece which can tally up to $500 to build your comp for you LOL
Holy stuff, I really need to go into business. I'd build a whole computer for $100.
It's easy as pie. Even water cooled systems aren't hard.

I assume so. I returned mine for a refund because it shipped broken.

By my quote I mean they charge that much to physically install hardware into your computer. So lets say you got a new psu, cpu, and gpu and you need it installed. They'd charge you $150 for simply putting 3 new things in and taking your old components out, nothing to do with fixing processors.
Processors aren't hard to install, if that's what you are meaning.

Good news everyone! I finally have the money for my build. I know there are build recommendations in the OP, but I want to make sure I'm getting the most for my money. Will the $500 build be suitable for playing BF3, MW3, Skyram and Minecraft (at high fps :3)? I wish to have two monitors also (not while playing the games though) .

Also farts.

1. Do you have the monitors already? There's no way you'll get 2 monitors with a $500 build if you are thinking you will.
2. What resolution are the monitors? The $500 build in OP will only play the games mentioned in max detail up to a resolution of about 1440x900.

Probably high on most games but the more graphic intensive ones medium-high on some games. Probably high on MW3 but maybe 40-50 fps in BF3. In Skyrim on Ultra you would get about 30-45 fps so I would keep that on medium or high.
Nope, it'd struggle with BF3, but not Skyrim. Apparently Skyrim is really easy to max out.

Yup.
Don't Know what that is.
Pretty sure either you or KoopaScoopa told me it would work fine.
Windows 7.

So yeah.
Well, both PSU and CPU are vital when it comes to this.

1. Open your case. In the top left (or bottom left for newer cases) of the case, will be a box with lots of wires coming out. Look at the label on the side for me and tell me:

- What wattage it states
- The model number of it

2. Tell me your CPU.

How good is it? This is the one I have.
It's ok. It's a little off 80+, but it's still good quality.

at random times it just doesn't want to work, and after a few moments it works.

You have a Phenom II if my memory serves me correctly.
The box with large cords is the PSU. Look on the bottom or side of it to determine the wattage.
Should say something like "MAX OUTPUT: ###W"

It says in HUUUGE font:
600W

Yet I seem to remember spending 30 minutes one time trying to find it. Fail.

Are you using a WAN port on a router with AP mode or bridge mode on?

That should be sufficient enough.

I'd wait for Ethan to confirm it, but that's just me.

What does it affect?

Good quality? Does it have a model, and does it have two 6-pin PCI-E connectors?

No, that's what the guy I quoted was implying

I was just saying how places charge $50 for a single piece of hardware and stuff which is ridiculous considering the first time I took apart a computer and looked at 1 or 2 youtube tutorials it was easy as pie to install/uninstall anything

Guy, I think an update or something made my computer start to slow down. I am currently on Ubuntu 11.10 and I just recently updated. Now I just noticed it when steam wouldn't close because it still thought a game was still running so I just restarted the computer. After that I started to notice games and stuff lagging kinda. Chromium is a little laggy and some games are too. Any help?

hey guys what can i use to clean the keys and LCD screen of my logitech G510 keyboard?

I use a keyboard brush and a microfiber cloth for my G19.

It's been known to do so in Windows, but I don't know about Ubuntu.

I can't even play games like VVVVVV or Super Meat Boy without noticing any lag.

I think I may need to reinstall Ubuntu or something.

EDIT: I think it may have been Ubuntu being not 2D. Things are running faster when I put it on Ubuntu 2D.
