Weird, I can run every game maxed at 40+FPS on my 6870, but GTA IV dies when I set it to higher view distance, vehicle density, etc. Any reason why? Some say you need to OC your CPU, but in my current state, I only have the stock cooler for my CPU. Shouldn't the stock i5 be enough?

I really was hoping I could use Icenhancer, but it's just stuttering either way.

GTAIV is very demanding for whatever reason.

GTA IV is crap in terms of optimization.

I ran two 6870s in crossfire + i5 2500k and it still stuttered badly.

What is your GPU? Must suck.
Geforce 9500GT 1GB DDR2 128-bit PCIe x16
Yeah, I know, it's horrible.

thar u go
Ah yes, not a particularly high end CPU but the GPU is definitely the bottleneck there.
What PSU do you have? What card you can get depends on whether your power supply can handle it. Open up your case for me and tell me what wattage/model is written on the box in the top left of the case.

Version of 6750 that doesn't require power from powersupply?

GTA IV is really unoptimized. I can only just run it on max with my rig, and I get no performance decrease from installing that Icenhancer mod....
I don't think my 990x is a bottleneck either.

Lol sorry :(
Don't be. I got this computer for free, of course it's going to suck. But, it does what I want it to do well enough.

...or not.

Is it just me or does Minecraft do this to everyone?

Minecraft seems to devour any computer it encounters.

can my computer run skyrim?

specs:
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.0 GHz
2 GB of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS 512 MB

it can run oblivion just fine
just want to know about skyrim just in case

No, it can't.
Firstly, your processor is way outdated. Your video card isn't that high-end anymore, but 2GB is pretty sufficient, though the standard is 4GB or more.

My video card is at 75c when i only have google chrome open what the hell do i do lol
it skyrockets to 100+ when blockland is open so im afraid to open it again

its now sticking around 67c which i still think is a bit outrageous, or is it normal?

it is a 500W supply.
