i probably might get a Maingear pc. Idk. One of them comes with a GTX 640, so i figure why the hell not. But i custom built it online and i'll be able to order it when i get a damn job and over 1800$.

Also: What is a decent Gaming PC or Laptop under 1,000$? I'm looking to atleast run Amnesia: The Dark Descent on it, because neither of my pc's can. But i can only run source games and The Walking Dead pretty much.

My cousin has a 1300 dollar budget and would like a custom pc so he can run auto CAD.  The software is covered already and he would like a lot of power to design heavy engineering tasks.  As this will be going to college with him wherever he chooses in 2013.  He is the same as me at 17 years old so he's paying for it himself.  Any good advice on part lists because he has the GTX 690 already chosen which he could pay for via his parents but still, if you could build a list with auto CAD tasks in mind that'd be great.
For 1300 dollars and he got the GTX 690? Wtf?
Just tell him to get a workstation card for like 750 dollars, it's supposed to be used for modeling anyway

He is unsure he has 1300 at the moment, his dad will be putting money into it as well so he will have a good sum to work with.

Okay guys i'm thinking about buying a new hard drive because my computer is all like
forget YOU NO 3D GAMING FOR YOU and i'm pretty sure it's because my computer's hardrive is dying so i figured it was a good idea. so now on to the main question
Should i buy a 500GB or splurge a little bit and buy a 1TB drive?

AMD is generally much cheaper than Intel, but generally are not as good performance-wise.
No not really. The FX series processors are pretty slow, but the Phenom II has extraordinary performance. However they only made Phenom II's with 1, 2, or 4 cores.

So annoyed with my 7950. First chance I get I'm going to replace it.

anyone want to loving answer my question

The Phenom II series had a hexcore line, the 1xxxT line of processors from what I can see

No mention of the difference between a HDD (hard drive disk) and a SSD (solid state drive), both can be used for storage however SSD's have no moving parts and are currently limited to size as to being fairly new compared to hard drives.
