Thanks, that probably would have been good information to give out.

I was thinking 17" or above for the screen, gaming on the go is spot-on, however battery life isn't a huge issue. Preferably i5 or i7 or equivalents, if Intel processors aren't available. 1TB hard-drive is probably the max at this point, since I haven't filled my desktop's hard-drive yet. And I'd rather not have to suffer through a NVIDIA again. :C

I've been looking around, but I figured you guys knew more about computer shopping then I would. Should I check out newegg as-well as standard electronic stores?

anyone know how to fix partition tables? there's no way i have 18 million terabytes of space on a 40 gigabyte drive
it's only supposed to be the storage volume and then the extended partitions, windows displays them fine

My friend is buying a new computer, his current one has a stuffty processor and a Directx8 card

his budget is $700, what should he get

I'll post details about his specs if needed
Would he be willing to build one or not?

What program are you using to look at that?

Just bought $1100 worth of parts + monitor + keyboard for my new computer
I'm so excited, they should arrive on Wednesday

already chosen

Lenovo IdeaPad Y580 Laptop - 20994BU, total $1,130.85 including two year warranty.  Was originally around $1,600 but they have a nice promo right now that saves you around $500.

15.6" 1080p screen
Geforce GTX660M
Core i7 2.3 GHz
8GB RAM
1TB HDD

MY REACTION CAN'T EVEN BE FULLY DESCRIBED RIGHT NOW

This looks like an error with the program itself.  If you really need to look at or modify partitions, look into this program.  Very useful tool for free.

???

actually that sums up my reaction very well, thank you!

wowe isn't a 660m equal to a desktop 560 ti or normal 560?

It's considered to be on par with the AMD HD 6950M and only slightly behind the GTX570M according to notebookcheck.
