Not sure if I should use a GTX690 or some other Radeon card with higher performance.

>implying there is a radeon card with a higher performance than a 690

do you even have the $1000 for that?

It might run on newer hardware better than XP, but I guarantee that Vista is no where near the level of XP or Windows 7
I don't consider an AM2 socket "newer", or even new in the slightest. Windows 7 was nowhere near as stable as XP was on this system, and XP was unstable as forget on it. I couldn't enter S3 or S1 with XP without it crashing upon wake. Hibernation caused the csrss application to crash and make it give me the strangest STOP code I had ever seen. Vista isn't doing anything like that so far and the growing number of crashes has halted.

It was a mess.  It works, but it's like they wanted to make Windows 7, but were stuck with some leftover XP assets.
No, I had vista up until recently, it crashed so I had to open my windows 7 and out it in, but in the time I had vista, it was probably the best thing to use for me.

Windows Vista was a slow OS (or it could just be my family cramming a bunch of stealth malware bullstuff on accident).
You probably had a stuffty computer and stuffty software, vista isn't slow.

It's not slow at all, I think it's actually faster and more stable than my XP setup, or my 7 setup.
The default defragmentation tool sucks tits, and you need SP1 to actually run anything, but it's fine as long as it works :)
Vista is a lot faster than XP IMO, and vista was faster than my 32bit windows 7, that's until I got 64 bit, which windows 7 is faster.

That's actually a valid response, but I will tell you in most instances vista was very more so unstable compared to either 7 or XP
There's a reason it was outdated extremely fast.

vista is literally the most bloated and securityless windows OS yet

I personally prefer vista over windows 7 or xp

vista is literally the most bloated
Are you sure? It only took 8.3GB when it was finished installing SP1, I don't consider that bloated at all, especially when Windows 7 took up 24.3GB with SP1 installed.

Yeah, it does have some usless features, but it did introduce that useful search feature on the start menu.

Windows in general is a loving hog

Vista was never any good. The only people who praise it are those who blew their money on it early, those who are stuck with it and can't upgrade (sometimes out of sheer laziness) and those who can't let go of the XP-style task bar.

I like XP and I like 7. I prefer 7 overall.

Windows in general is a loving hog
Then delete it and get some other stuff OS.

what do you mean the only people who praise it?

I had vista for 5 years cause it came on the new computer I bought, and it was probably the best OS I've ever used until I did some stuff with it.

8 would loving be good if people started developing stuff for it

aka the fat swede known as notch is one good example of a butthurt forget.

Windows 7 with a strap on. When your using a desktop computer the start menu is completely pointless

Then delete it and get some other stuff OS.

Linux is far superior. Windows in general is crappy. It was great in '98. But now it's just adding on to an old system (with one or two exceptions were Microsoft actually improved it)  And vista is complete stuff.
