everytime I enter my code on steam it says it's invalid when it's not.

I had to use uplay. oh my go. I'd rather not have anything else other than steam to play games.

and one more thing, is it really worth spending $20 more on the FX-4170 instead of getting the Phenom II x4 965 for $20 less?

nothing is sacred
Now try it with lots of Teslas. I won't give you the stack of money required, though! (one nVidia Tesla costs about $2k-$3k)

How many games do you have installed? Almost 80% of my Steam game library plus 12 other games are installed on my current computer and I am only at 106GB, even that is absurd to me.

My steam folder is 394gb alone, and I have like half of my steam games installed. I also have another 100gb of games at least.

I bought the latter instead of the former and it's serving me pretty damn well, I doubt the FX would've given me any significant increase in performance so it's more of a question of whether or not you want to spend an extra $20 or use that $20 on something else

it's $15 more but it's worth it

I might build a computer when I get older, just one question: you can get any part you want, regardless of the motherboard and things like that, right?

Not really. Things like the video card are (most of the time) completely compatible with every board, so long as it has an accompanying bus to suit the card. Otherwise, the Processor and the RAM are dependent on the motherboard's specifications. The power supply depends on all the components inside the unit.

Also you should make sure your case has enough slots for your usbs and whatnot.
