Without a heatsink ontop of your processor it will get hot enough to cook eggs.

Not only that, it would cause problems and if it's older technology, then it won't shut off when it gets too hot and you could fry it.
There's a video on what happens when you take off your heatsink on certain processors, and it's quite scary how fast they fry.

This isn't really a computer question, but I got Newegg's UPS tracking e-mail and all it shows is the mouse, and when I click on the tracking number it says it doesn't exist. Should I be concerned?

The tracking saying it doesn't exist is normal. Just wait about a day and that should be working.

depends, did you purchase your stuff a couple of days ago? if not, it probably hasn't left the mail handling station or whatever they call it

Don't really know. Haven't used Newegg before as I live in NZ and they don't ship here.

All right, no, I placed it just yesterday, and I just realized it's Sunday.

The UPS number is only valid once the package leaves the warehouse.

So you can assume it'd be tomorrow and they don't ship Sundays, as you just said.

What is the difference between Windows 7 upgrade and Windows 7 OEM? Why is OEM cheaper?

OEM is one use. I'm fairly sure upgrade is 3 use?

Oh God, I remember watching that.  The Intel ones slowed themselves down in order to save itself but the AMD ones just kept going and then started smoking IIRC.

That's it.
God, CPUs use to be strange looking.

You can only (legally) buy OEM when buying/building a new computer (IIRC). Upgrade requires that you have another Windows license for that computer already. Retail can be purchased at any time and is also the only one that can be moved to another computer, although you have to uninstall it on the old one.

Yeah.  I still have my Pentium M from my Dell Latitude D610, just sitting on my desk.  They are weird...

Thanks for that. I didn't quite know all the details.
I knew that people stress about OEM software not being with a system though.
