Aren't they only supposed to hit 500MB/s or so on Sata III?
370 isn't bad.
That is under 80% of what it should be. That is not good. And the write speed is loving atrocious at 28% of what it should be. Given how NAND flash is designed read and write operations should be performing at roughly the same speeds. Marvell released a stuffty product and figured they could get away with it since SSDs and SATA 3 drives weren't commonplace when they were making the controllers.

Months ago my graphics card stopped working, so I broke out my backup 9400 GT and I've been using that to play games and such, but it has serious overheating problems and it never used to get this hot. It's idling currently at 73C underclocked and if I play any games like TF2 it hits 100C and stops working entirely until I restart my computer. With my case open it's the same and the only way to keep it from overheating is putting my computer on its side with a house fan blowing strait into it.
My old graphics card didn't do that and the 9400 GT never used to either. There's no dust and the fan is indeed working.

Reseat the heatsink/fan. Make sure to get some thermal paste ready if it needs it.
It's just like reseating a CPU heatsink.

this was taken from the main original post. i was just wondering if there was anything that could be changed for the better without making the price raise? plus, is there a tutorial on how to put together a computer since i'm a first timer?
Good idea to ask as things change. I'll look into it.

Alright. Paulcall, that build is fine, except you need to replace the HDD with this:
http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=58611&vpn=ST3500413AS&manufacture=Seagate
Due to the floods in Thailand, Newegg has put their HDD prices up as all the HDD factories are over there. NCIX hasn't put them up as much though, that's why it's way cheaper there.

Will PCI Express x16 2.0 cards work on normal PCI Express x16? If so, performance differences?

PCI-E 1.1?
Err, I wouldn't say too much, but it will be there.

This started a long time ago, but when I installed my new GPU, my computers would take longer to start up. Why is that?

Did you install anything else with it, i.e a PSU?
It could be the drivers initializing or it could also be that you don't have enough power for the system.

It's likely the drivers, when I installed a new video card and it needed drivers, my startup time decreased a bit (by 10 or 15 seconds.)

I don't know if this works (if not someone please tell me)
But on the $600 if you replace the case with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811233067
then you could use the money you saved to get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341052

Please tell me if this wont work with the $600 setup.

This adapter keeps disabling itself and I can't enable it. It was enabled after I fixed my drivers but now its off. Hate to be pushy but I want to play Saints Row 3 tonight. :C

I also checked recently for hardware problems and I couldn't find any other than the dust I was talking about, but that's out of the way now.
