Hurr durr.  I am getting to move to my basement and I will have a L shape desk that won't even match :D.  I would like it to match but who cares computers and electricity bill OH GOD.

What do you mean last really good? The new ones are better and I haven't seen any bad reviews on them

If I increase my overclock on my Phenom II X4 980 from 4.0GHz to something like 4.4 or higher will I notice a framerate increase on more high end games?

Depends on what's bottlenecking it. AFAIK most games are more GPU-intensive than CPU-intensive, so it'll probably barely help at all.

Is there a way to monitor or figure out what my hard drive seems to be constantly reading in the background?

Assuming Vista+, Ctrl+Shift+Escape -> Performance -> Resource monitor.


My monitor will randomly dim then brighten again in an on-again off-again fashion. Any idea why?
