it can max out skyrim, so most likely yes.
but if you get the laptop, go into the bios and change switchable graphics from dynamic to fixed.
it will increase your GPU performance by a stuff ton.

EDIT: Since people are posting pictures of their computers, I might as well post some of that "retro" Pentium II-400 I talked about a few pages ago. Since then, I've doubled the RAM to 512 Mb and installed the English version of Windows 98SE, along with some modifications.
The case isn't that great, but hey, it was given to me for free.

I have a quad core i5 at 2.4.
I have a program that monitors them to and there were 4 cores it was monitoring.
Here is EXACTLY what I have.
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz

Hyperthreading. 2 cores, 4 logical threads.

But then how was the program monitoring 4 cores?
And how did all those other programs detect 4 cores or a quad core?

Logical threads means that it sees 4 cores, but it's really only 2 cores.

Any i7 will win against an i5, and also, you also have to take the GPU into account for gaming performance.

Sir I am not handicapped. I know you need a nice GPU for gaming but I have never had a problem with my current GPU not playing games at good frame rates. But the processor has had problems so I want a good processor. I just did not know my CPU was a dual core because dxdiag said "(4 cpu's)".

My family has had 2 Vaios. One had windows 98 on it and the other had vista and they both are still not out dated.
The windows 98 one is getting close but the vista one is fine. The windows 98 one has windows XP SP3 and the vista one has Windows 7 Ultimate.

I have my modem and router in my attic were my dad has his office and computer. I got a new desk and plan on building myself a workspace but our attic does not have enough room left. The only other place that is ideal is my basement. My only problem is that I plan on getting a new computer for my workspace but I do not intend on buying a wireless card or anything because I just want a strait cable connection to my internet. Only problem is that I am separated between three floors of housing :/ What do?
