I had something similar happen to me once, except my computer wouldn't even finish POST (that's where you hear the beep). It would just start up and do nothing.

I pulled all the components one by one and tested them to try and figure out what the issue was. It turns out it was the case. Threw it out and got a new one and the computer has been running fine ever since.

Could be a corrupt bios? Any beeps?

I haven't been hearing any beeps, but that might be because I don't have a motherboard speaker, all I have are speakers I plug into the jack in the motherboard. Should I be able to hear the beeps out of those?

No. You'd only hear the beeps if you had a pc speaker.

I've been having this problem with my PC I built

I was playing DOTA 2 when it suddenly turned off, at first I thought it was the graphics card overheating so I waited for it to cool down then I turned it back on. The monitor stayed black and I didn't get a splash screen, or bios, or anything. The fans of my computer (case, CPU, and GPU) turn on A-OK, and I can open/close the CD rom drive. What could be the problem and how do I fix it? I already removed my current GPU and plugged the monitor right into the motherboard.

And another thing, the power-button on the case of my computer turns it on, but I can't turn it off with the power-button, I have to turn off the PSU itself.

Any help?
i had a problem sort of like this but instead it was stuck in a endless boot state and it was because of bad memory

Uh, during driver updates my card changed from being referred as a Mobility Radeon HD 6371,
to being referred to as a Radeon HD 6300M by everything... Is that suposed to happen? o.o

the M means Mobility and 6300 is the series

Need a sata to ide converter to use my stacks of 80gb hdds as backup space.

Alright, I've narrowed the problem down to either A) my mobo or B) my CPU

I should be able to determine which one it is if I can get my hands on a motherboard speaker thing right?

Anything is possible. You'll need more specs though.

0GDG8Y is the motherboard ID

you have a 250W power supply and an available PCIe x16 1.0b slot, along with either a Core 2 Duo or Quad, at some clock from 2.2GHz to 2.9GHz
you can put a video card in it as your processor is decent, but your power supply may be insufficient

Alright, my mobo is an ASRock 760GM-GS3, and it didn't come with any speakers for the board and the users manual says nothing at all about a POST Test, should I even bother spending the money on a speaker seeing as I won't be able to know what the beeps will mean (provided I get any beeps)?

I'm never buying from Dell again. First, the computer I bought (Dell XPS 8300): it still has one of those old LCD screens, not LED. No integrated webcam; wireless mouse and keyboard use an USB receiver instead of bluetooth. Chassis is hard to clean. The monitor is so loving thick and it has a crappy supporter that you will spend an hour trying to get it right. Computer goes at 70˚ while using Microsoft Word Starter. Windows CD is not included in the package. Microsoft Office is unlicensed. Nero CD is not included in the package. I could go on with this list forever (not to mention how bad the support is), but I have a lot more important things to do.

Now, onto my question, what brand computer should I get next?
And please, this brand has to be available in Brazil.
