Its computer specifications I'm putting together for someone. I was told it would be a $4000 budget one, so thats what we went with.
I seriously doubt they know how much to spend on a mother loving computer

So it turns out the credit card company declined the purchase of the second half of my order (the guts), so my order has been on hold for the past 48 hours and I didn't know. Cleared it up and it's awaiting processing. Hopefully get it Friday.

That all checks out in compatibility, however I think that GPU seems a bit underpowered considering the processor; I could be wrong though.
Thanks, do you have any suggestions for a stronger GPU?

maybe waiting for a 660.  around august two years ago is when I got my GTX 460 so the 660s should be around soon if not already.

If I can afford it I probably would end up getting one.

I would get the evga one, they're known for quality. You can just overclock it yourself instead of needing a factory OC

alright. i also get lovey mail in rebate for it.

So my wonderful only computer - a Dell Studio 1535 laptop - has managed to fail me yet again. This has to be a record.

This morning I woke up and turned on my computer. This happened:

Yeah the picture sucks. Don't have a better camera then the one on my iPod right now.

My laptop screen is all static, but everything else works as fine as it ever did, as I can still use it with an external monitor. Maybe something came loose? Because the screen is still clearly displaying something, and the picture changes whenever it should change - but it's still just static of course.

Yesterday a piece of plastic broke off it. Probably related. I see several thin wires.

I accidentally left a fan running last night, and my room got really humid by morning. So that could be a factor as well. ugh

Anyone think they can point me in the right direction to fix this? I'd appreciate it.

replace the screen

i had a laptop that had a problem like this. i replaced the display and i fixed it.

It's probably not worth it to replace the screen

Besides, it's reasonably probable that it's just a loose wire or two, look up how to separate the monitor from the body of the laptop and take a look at all the connections

is this a good laptop for the price?
About the same specs as some of the medium MSI computers and much cheaper
