Could I get a cheaper CPU of GPU that is still better then my old computers 1st gen i7 or my ATI mobility 5650 hd?

The 7850 is about as fast/faster than the 6950 and $100 cheaper on newegg.

You could ditch the sound card and get a better power supply, onboard audio is enough for almost everything.

The 7870 would be a better option, it's slightly more expensive but significantly more bang for your buck, the price just lowered

The i5s are fantastic. Try and find one cheep.

I suggest the i5-3570k, I use it in my rig (standard clock) and it works brilliantly with my 7850
You could do a slight OC on it if it needs any balancing with the 7870

Uhhh someone tell me if I'm wrong here, but a micro ATX case will not fit a real graphics card. There isn't even a pci slot on it
