Guys, the new iMac looks gorgeous.

Like I mean I know you're all gamers, as am I. For a regular joe though this thing looks good.

Even on the gaming end, the high-end one DOES have a 670M in it... and when you think about it still does run Windows.

It looks stunningly beautiful but Apple has boldly removed the optical drive for the thin form factor.

Though to be honest, I rarely use optical drives ever. I'd probably not mind using a USB / Firewire one if I had a Mac. But then again, I don't expect to have to buy an optical drive if I'm paying the whopping price for a Mac.

They should put the drive in the keyboard or stand for the monitor lol.

That would actually be pretty cool.

Probably. Any way http://pcpartpicker.com/p/q0ur

Does this all look good or should I choose something else? Also can I get any parts cheaper but still get decent performance?

Will an AMD Radeon 7750 be able to run shaders?
Any dedicated video that's even remotely modern could run them

I picked up a couple of 120mm fans and a 212 Evo CPU cooler, so now I should be ready to overclock :D

also can windows pcs run Mac OS?

is it possible to unlock your CPU from over clocking?

It's entirely possible and pretty stable too depending on your hardware. I'm setting up a dual boot with Mac OS because my brother recently purchased Mountain Lion.

(Not quite sure if I'll get banned for posting this seeing as Apple doesn't consider it "legal" and Apple is the new HQ of technology, apparently, and may sue me for saying their name now)

getting really pissed at apple for breaking, thinking about that new chromebook as a way of coding/internet surfing, not actually for playing games.

any recommendations? (100-300$)

if you're only surfing and coding, don't go for a chromebook
especially for coding.
you can get an android/linux based machine for under 100 bucks. that said, you'll have to provide a monitor, which isn't too expensive either

so i basically have no idea how linux works at all, but i know coding in sdl with windows is entirely different than coding in sdl with linux.
it looks like a whole bunch more trouble that i'd rather not go through.

fair enough
but I wouldn't go for a chromebook, especially for coding :u

give me an estimate of how many different linux based operating systems there are.
