I have new specs from a friend: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qlip

However I don't know if there garbage or not. I would like parts that will last. So can you tell me any of these parts are crap or if I could get better ones for a cheaper or equal price?
is your friend handicapped? he is trying to get you 1x8 memory for a motherboard that can hold four sticks of RAM. what a dinck.

This. On most motherboards you have to install a pair of sticks at a time

Is that all? he gave me a list but I might have selected the wrong type of part

wow please someone help

wow please someone help

what GPU do you have? you only showed basic system info

start > type "dxdiag" in search > display tab

(use ALT+Printscreen to only take a screenshot of the active window)

8 SQUARE BLOCKS ALSO CAN'T FIT INTO 4 SQUARE HOLES.

Erm.. no they don't. Where on earth did you hear this?

It's a future proofing method. The idea is that you put in less sticks with more ram, that way you can fully max the boards RAM capacity in the future so you don't need to replace all the 4GB dims.

i only need one core, and it runs 921 ghz
oh yes.

-snip-

you could use a GPU upgrade. you have enough RAM for most things. your CPU isn't very powerful but if you wanted to upgrade that you'd likely want a new motherboard which would really leave you better off buying a new computer.

do you have a budget for upgrades? what are you looking to do with the computer after you've finished upgrading it?

("gaming" isn't specific enough, what era of games are you wanting to play at what resolution etc etc)

$500, around that.

And idk, I just want to be able to run the game without it lagging so much that I cannot play.

how many watts is your power supply? when did you purchase your computer?

if you don't know the answer to the first one, there might be a sticker on the back of your computer wherever the power cord plugs in.

new GPU, probably a new power supply, a bit more RAM, and a new CPU

i'm not able to tell you the price as you might or might not have a good enough power supply but you def need a new CPU and GPU

Me again
I found a more powerful PC in a good price range. There are 2 types, though. 6 core:
http://www.palicomp.co.uk/gaming-pcs/sniper-elite-2-amd-6core-gaming-pc.html
or 8 core:

Obviously 8 core is more powerful, but is it worth it? I can get the 6 core, 22" monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers and internal wireless card for £15 more than the 8 core alone. I could use the savings for a better graphics card. What should I do?
Anybody?

Many motherboards require this, including my own
