bubba if you had $500 why did you go with a 7870? I mean, yeah, your computer can't even run that in the first place, but if this was your "master plan" you may as well have gone for a 7970
I was asleep when he bought it okay I wasnt even conscious
So what can I do now that will allow the graphics card to work

Lol are you angry or something
Now you're just being rude
That wasn't rude at all, lol, I'm not sure where you got the idea I'm angry or rude is quite absurd.

Rude:
 Offensively impolite or ill-mannered

And I'm not angry at all, I'm frustrated that you're going to 'play' your father like that, but that's none of my concerning.
I'm just pointing out your flaws in your devious 'plan',

I was asleep when he bought it okay I wasnt even conscious

wait, he just picked one and bought it?

lol he really has no idea what he's doing if he thinks your computer can support it ..

also wtf raging hard right now GTX580 went down to $300 I bought this thing a year ago for $500 damnit I could get a 680 for that ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

so is it worth buying a soundcard?

so is it worth buying a soundcard?

golden rule for soundcards: if you have to ask, no.

That wasn't rude at all, lol, I'm not sure where you got the idea I'm angry or rude is quite absurd.

The definition you provided seems to perfectly fit the way you are acting. Anyway, the thing about how it was my plan all along is a joke, I'm not trying to play anyone.
Additionally its none of your business what I do and your opinion is not neccessary or wanted, this thread is about helping one another and not just trying to give your opinion on the morality of a certain thing I do or do not do

get a 650 watt power supply
make sure it isn't $20 (keep in mind this is just to make it work, it won't fix the bottleneck)

So what can I do now that will allow the graphics card to work

new motherboard and a new PSU plus a new CPU to avoid bottlenecking

can someone direct me to a good laptop that could be used for somewhat heavy gaming at a budget of at most $800 (preferably more around $750)
:( / c:?

new motherboard and a new PSU plus a new CPU to avoid bottlenecking
How much is that all going to cost.
Also I don't need people saying I'm better off buying a new computer as I already made that clear that I was not able to do that.

Lol, you're handicapped.
See, that was being rude, not what I am doing.

And I already CLEARLY stated, it's none of my business, but don't post on an internet forum publicly accesable if you don't want to deal with unwanted opinions.
And I AM trying to help you, the GPU you bought won't be supported by a single ounce of the stuffty prebuilt you have, so have fun explaining to your dad that you need an entire new computer.

How much is that all going to cost.

As much as everything besides the GPU costs

$50-$100 for a good motherboard, i'd say $50 for a good PSU, $300-$400 for a new CPU

so anywhere from $500 to $700

$50-$100 for a good motherboard, i'd say $50 for a good PSU, $300-$400 for a new CPU
Thats doable

This is every part needed.
About $275. That's actually the rest of the budget you had for a graphics card, as the 7870 is a $250 card.
