Can someone recommend me a good graphics card for shadows and shaders? I sort of want to be able to run them more decently.

Look around on Google?
And my dad has decided he wants a new computer, he wants me to build it for him. He wants a really good GPU when he doesn't even play games or anything like that. I've tried explaining it to him but it's hopeless.
Explain to him that it'd be a waste of money to do anything above integrated unless he's going to be rendering 3D.

That's not really enough information. We could seriously recommend the best card on the market right now without knowing any boundaries

Is he going to be using 3D rendering or modeling programs of any type with it?
Nope. He uses his computer for; Browsing the web, Emailing, share trading, Skype, creating PowerPoint presentations/Spreadsheets for his work, watching videos and that's about it, I was planning on picking him a board with a nice integrated one  but he won't have it.

you could get him a board without integrated and put on something like an HD 5450 or stuff like that

I'll end up getting him something pretty basic and telling him it's amazing. Hell, I might just buy him the best GPU out there and swap it with mine.

Was it a good idea to save money by buying the GTX 670 standard instead of the 4GB GTX 670 FTW ?

I have a GTX 670 standard - I'm assuming by standard you mean 2GB? - and it's run everything i've thrown at it so far.

It makes no difference, the card you have is considered one of the best you can get. Quit being ridiculous. >:u

My computer keeps going into sleep mode when I'm playing games. My screen is disconnected and is connected to a monitor. Temperature wasn't anything particularly high, it was at the normal amount my computer usually runs at. Anybody know any reason why it's going to sleep mode?

Started happening after reboot. Said something about CMOS but I can't seem to get it to say it again. Reset everything in bios to default still same thing. Any ideas?

solved. I used gigabyte's xpress recovery on the CD and that fixed it in 5 seconds lol

Edit: never mind restarted again and did it again, this time it isn't reading cd

So uh, I'm having a huge problem. I was getting skins for my computer, and something went wrong. Everything is black now. When I start up my computer, I can log in to accounts, but then everything is black. I've tried safe mode and it does the same thing. I'm using windows 7. Help please?
