I would check the ram sticks yourself and swap them around. If it's something else, such as something reserving that 4.01 gb of ram, I'm not sure what to tell you.
Also, in msinfo32, check your bios and see if that's the latest one. It could be a problem with that.

Are they true 8 cores?

Looking into it, most people generally believe anything 4 core+ will do you fine. I often see people debate about if certain games and applications can really utilize more than 4 cores, if higher frequency and lesser cores is a better option, etc etc.

Apparently many AMD 6 core processors are slower than Intel quad core. I can't confirm this but I've read it time and time again.

The benefit to 8? Perhaps 'future proofing' and giving yourself more room to grow if you ever need it. Is it vital you get a true 8 core processor? Probably not.

It's more of being able to do a lot more with the CPU spread out across multiple processes.

I'm not 100% sure since I'm still trying to understand how processors work, but I believe games and heavy applications can spread out load on different cores so everything "happens faster".

Some applications can only use one core. And then there are threads... which... I dunno it confuses me. Fake cores? WAT someone clear this up I have no idea

Nothing noticeable, especially with AMD.

It's more of being able to do a lot more with the CPU spread out across multiple processes.

other way around.  even so, most programs won't even go beyond 4 if they even do.  it's not worth going beyond a quad core.

If I remember correctly the new 8 core AMD cpu's aren't the same as an actual 8 core cpu.

Look for the standoff holes on the mobo, and then find them in the case. It is vital that the case only touch the motherboard in those locations.

one at each end, in the middle, places necessary so the board doesn't push down when putting in a connector

RAM is weird like that. I'm always scared how hard to pull it out, and in laptops and certain mini-itx boards that take SO-DIMM its weird to know when its "clicked in" and can be laid down with the board. It never feels in. D:

I gave the ram a weak 'force' push, like pushing in but just barely forcing it in, just to be sure it's all the way in. I had old ddr2 ram that would never run at 1100mhz when set through bios

I didn't know they made PSUs to be honest, but if they're anything like their GPUs they're likely to be just as high quality.
