Author Topic: Looking into a Macbook Pro. Tell me if I'm doing wrong here.  (Read 1948 times)

but why spend twice as much to get a mac (then add on $150+ for windows version whatever) if you plan on gaming?
Thunderbolt looks like it could be a reason to buy a macbook pro right now, especially with GPU enclosures.

I thought the Mac doesn't offer anything the Windows can't handle?

I mean seriously, when you buy a mac for business use, you end up downloading .exe runners, to get certain programs to work.

And, Mac's aren't the only ones best for video editing. People just say it is, because there is nothing else to make it good for.

If you want a mac, so you can go into StarBucks and try to look important. Go ahead.

While Macbooks are expensive, they are incredibly well designed and made with quality.  They're very durable computers.

1: find computer with almost exact same specs running windows

2: hackintosh

3: ?????????

5: Profit

It's an i5 processor, I'd get the 8GB of RAM and a 500GB HDD, coming to a total of $1,509.
Sounds like a gigantic ripoff.

Wow, I got a PC Desktop with Windows 7, 6 GB of RAM, and a 3.2 Dual-Core i5 processor for about $600.
You should probably be able to do better for $1,500.

another reason to hate macs.

a pc for that price WILL be twice as powerful.

remember all "power" means in a computer is age. being outdated...
you are literally paying for something with half the life of a proper comp you should be getting.

And there you have it, wisdom from a wise man.

What people will  pay just to have a brand name product in the room barely anyone goes in.

You could get a computer with the same or better specs for ~$700.

Minus the design, the legal ability to use MacOS, the support from Apple.

I doubt he is buying a Mac out of not having shopped around. Obviously he needs a Mac.

Wow. That is the funniest anti-Mac rant I have ever seen.

Yes, if you are Windows dependent and need to run Windows programs generally you don't buy a Mac hahaha.

yo mane! check out these sick ass "beats by. Dre".
they only costed me $500 and they make my ipods stuffty sound quality sound  sooo much better

OP, get a refurbed machine. They're pretty much brand new, they're just cheaper.

This model here gets you a better processor for about the same price, if not less. I'm just taking into account that you'll need to buy ram if you really want the 8 gb.

I got my 15'' macbook pro refurbished, and it's pretty much a brand new computer. Please please please get a refurb if you're getting a macbook pro.

discussion about Apple products always turns to extreme bias either for them, or against them, but the bottom line is, this is the best option for you, and if a Macbook Pro is what you want, you won't go wrong this model.

Or don't buy direct from Apple, that is always asking for a higher price tag.
