Also how do you plan to make a "better potato farm" if the potato farm is made better than the carrot farm?

All I planned on doing was making the walk ways 2x since its hard to get through it. And I find the carrot farm more clean and bigger. But they produce the same amount of crops. Now enough of that please.

Most efficient farm I've seen is a 9x9 plot with one square of water in the middle, and you put a slab over that block. The one water block is enough to keep all the plots wet, and it's pretty clean looking.

I died and I forgot that zombies pick up armour. But I killed it before it even hit me.
