How do you play RTS games

I like to go in hard and fast, I build all the cheapest units and attack as soon as possible.
I like to provide a slow, continious stream of attack on the enmies base(s).
I focus completley on defense and turtle myself until they send a giant wave, then attack them.
I like to focuse mainly on resources and rely on my allies to do the fighting.
I attack not very often, but when I do, I use the strongest units and try to attack their most major buildings.
Defend until I can get all the big stuff, then go try and blow everything the forget up.
I like to trick my enimies, I send a group right up the middle, then attack with multiple or one other group while they are occupied with that.
Anything ground based will do the trick for me, I just do anything.
Anything arial based will do the trick for me, I just do anything.
Anything naval based will do the trick for me, I just do anything.
I only use special units and support, I use lots of money but only produce a few units.
loving nukes.
Other (specify).
I suck at these games anyways, who needs tactics.
EVERYTHING! SEND EVERYTHING!

This only applies for campaign, haven't tried MP.

Two to four heavy bolter turrets by each entrance to my base. Once I get the heavy weapons teams I put them in front of the turrets, upgrade the turrets to rocket turrets, and the teams to autocannons
Then I bring up a pair of basilisks as soon as possible and put them at each entrance.

Once the defenses are in place I put together an attack force of kasrkin, ogryn, command squad, and three or so guardsmen squads. The ogryn get a psyker, kasrkin a priest, and the guardsmen get commissars. The guard squads also get 3 grenade launchers (or plasma rifles, depending on who I'm fighting). Basilisks may be moved to safer areas outside the base to provide Earthshaker support for the infantry.

This strategy let us wipe the forces of Chaos and the Necrons off of the face of Kronus. Wave after wave of their forces crashed against our defenses, but we held the line. And when it was our turn to go on the offensive, we slayed all that stood in our way. Turrets were flattened before they could do any real damage. Chaos Space Marines and Necron Warriors broke rank and fled. Even the mighty Defilers and Tomb Spyders were no match for our courage and numbers.

Send in a forgetload of weak bastards first, then catch them off guard by attacking their resources with the strong units.

Take the most metal spots and then spam goliaths until everything is dead

Or what tails does.
I know your tactic now! You will never win again!

I build up a rediculous amount of resources, then I make everything uber strong.
Send massive wave of people

everyone ded

I use everything I'm started with and rush.
Take them down while they're preparing.

i usually build defenses up, and every little once in a while i'll send out a little squad, to keep the enemy busy, while i'm building up my defense and training the REAL army to go in.

Tanks and marines.
Then kill 5 bases while I have 1 with said army.

Build a small defence with lots of add-ons. Then grow bigger as I get more resources.

This somewhat applies to impossible creatures, it's the only one i've played recently.

>make a balanced zoo of creatures
>Wait until I can make a steady stream of units
>SEND
>OVER
>EVERYTHING
>Harass until they ded

In Revenge of the Titans (It's basically a RTS game) I first would place all my turrets right at the spawns, but now I found out its a lot less costly to just put all of my turrets around my base.
