Any tips on how to get to level 20.

Partner up with a priest
If you see good equipment for other classes, take it and store it in your vault for later
DODGE the bullets
If you find the Godlands too difficult, train in the areas where fire sprites and other weaker monsters spawn.  You still level but it's slower and safer.

what do drakes do?

Drakes are like pets -- only better. They have the power to stun/slow/paralyze/hurt enemies depending on their color. The rarest (white drake egg) is like having a baby priest who heals you for 25 HP every second. However, since they are only temporary I think you should never spend fame on them. Instead, find them. Fame should only be spent on one thing. Resurrection amulets.

Any tips on how to get to level 20.

As a beginner, I say grind quests (the red dot that remains on your map no matter where you are) until level 5. Then, trek inland for monster that give more experience. If you come across slimes, type in the global chat that you have found slimes and swarms of people will come help you fight them. They give a metric forgetton of experience.
There's a large glob of green dots in the top right corner of your map. Teleport there when you're level 10 - 19 for fastest end leveling.

Yes, it's why I usually hang out in the back of a group when in the godlands.

Any locked class that only has one prerequisite used to have rogue as one
