I expected people to deal with it, honestly.
We look for bad stuff to agree that it's bad stuff, even though we all know very well that stuff is bad.

well, deviantart has good artists, no duh. but, often, on the front page, you don't really have to find the stuff. the stuff finds you.

this thread isn't "everything is bad on deviantart, lets post everything" it's "bad/weird stuff you see on deviantart". Of course if you're just looking at the today/watch/what's hot pages, or if you're in browse and are sorting by "popular x time", that's all you're going to see. Because only the good stuff makes it to those pages (unless you're intentionally watching bad artists). And the stuff that lands on those pages is only a tiny portion of what gets uploaded. If you just sit in browse + newest, you're going to see a lot of the stuff we see.

Although the exception is the stuffheads in this thread that just keep posting inflation/vore, they're most likely intentionally searching for it.
