You know, I think we can all take example from my Grandfather. He was an airplane pilot for 43 years and feared nothing at all. He lived everyday to the fullest, did what he enjoyed, and was always kind to those around him. And when I die, I want to die like him: Peacefully in my sleep, content with all I did in my life and ready to pass on.

Not screaming in terror like his passengers were.

even if it did happen, you'll just have to live like your grandparents did when they were kids.

That would be fun to do actually.

I'd like to be flung into the barbarian age, recreate Conan in my own image.

how it it any more likely to happen then, then now?

you are stuck in the "it wont happen to me" mode. where you hide fears of bad things in your head.
its usually a relition-cigarette's way of doing things.
I never said that's going to be the only end to happen. I meant as that's the only one rooted in fact that will, not maybe, but will happen.

This has a chance at being the end of humanity, and I don't doubt that. I'm just skeptical at all of the end time predictions because they've pretty much been all wrong.

Also when I mean "all humans will be dead" I meant by their own doings, like releasing a virus by accident or wars.

Guys do your research

The worst to happen is have our living areas tinted with SLIGHT radiation, and have power knocked out for weeks.

It's not going to eradicate all life on earth, and we won't have to retreat into a fallout shelter.

Better turn off your computers and phones. :3

Also, it's funny how fox news is trying to scare everyone lol

Quick, get over to my house so I can forget your ass!

Everyone predicting a doomsday or the end of humanity are handicapped.

Large CMEs from the sun are real, and can screw with communications - a massive solar flare in 1859 burned down a bunch of telegraph lines. However, we have made significant advances in technology the last 150 years. The worst that would happen is a widespread but temporary power outage. It wouldn't send the world back into the dark ages either since it would only hit one side of the earth.

A solar flare cannot directly kill a person on Earth. You'd probably get a huge dose of radiation if you were in a spacecraft over the daylight side of the Earth when this happens but on the ground there's almost no chance you will be hurt. Even if the magnetic field is weak, it's still enough to protect us from solar flares. This kind of stuff has been happening for all of Earth's existence so it's just stupid to say that a new one will suddenly kill off the magnetic shield.

Fun fact: one of the sun's largest spots was facing us about a month ago and ejected a massive wave at us. It came and went without any doomsday hype.

God I hate when i hear this stuff, it makes me up set and I feel sick. I don't want to die or thing of it.

I think I'll keep that part of my virginity..
Nasa says it will only wipe out electrics and all that stuff. None of what truly matters to me will be lost;
