Needless to say, I am at a low concern for this kind of event, rather if we lose touch with technology due to it, or we all become ill-ridden people due to radiation, and severe 3rd degree burns, not because I "had a good life while it lasted,"or, "I'll just go out with a bang," it's because things like these happen more than occasionally without our consent, and we cannot be certain if this solar storm will manifest itself to be that intense, or will simply be exactly like August 2011 all over again.
irrational tl;dr - The media is most likely fear mongering, or making the situation bigger than it should be.
