He displayed he could be dangerous. The worst kind: Not even he'd understand it, know he'd do it, without full guilt because he's never be able to comprehend it. He had to be put down, otherwise it could happen to anyone else. Something like that.

This is what pains me, Lennie (Or a similar character or person) - not knowing, not understanding, in his mental state. It makes me so sad that he can't be comforted, nor can he truly understand, especially in the time they are in. With all of the constant struggle for sustenance of life and whatnot.
