Ever heard of Rise of Nations? The not-so-popular-but-very-awesome-RTS-game?
Guide:
Step 1: Discuss it. You like it? Find it extraordinarily excruciating?
Step 2: If you didn't buy it, buy it and repeat step 1.

I personally think that Rise of Nations is the best RTS (Real Time Strategy) game. It's actually a nice blend of RTS and TBS (Turn Based Strategy) games, but it turned out in a nice smooth RTS.

My rating:

Graphics: 8/10 (Eh.. Graphics could've been a bit better)
Gameplay: 10/10 (Best gameplay ever!)
Music: 9/10 (Good music!)
Total: 9/10

Multiplayer: Supported
Single Player: Skirmish and Campaign
Supports Mods: Yes

Features: 18 Nations, 8 Ages, 6 Resources (Wood, Stone, Wealth, Knowledge, Food, Oil). Has a unique addition of territories, which increase in size as you build more cities. You cannot destroy cities, but you can capture them. You have technologies that you need to research before you advance an age. Rise of Nations has "Wonders", buildings that help you (example: Increase in wood production, etc.) if you build them. And, this game has NUKEZ! BIG GIANT NUKEZ!!!!!!

what the hell? lol
ancient looking stuff right below some jets and tanks?

I can think of 5 other games that are better than this one.

Especially the one I'm playing now, Empire: Total War.

I said there were 8 ages in this game, from Ancient age to Information age. Weapons and vehicles range from knights and catapults to soldiers and tanks. And NUKEZ!

Empire: Total War is more of a Battle SImulator, Riso Of Nations is more of a RTS.

I had this game for a while, but i lost it :c

The only game I like more than Rise of Nations, is Age of Empires II.

>build wonder
>set rally on wonder
>spam c
>build guard towers
>repeat
>win game

Total War is part battle simulator, but mostly rts. I mean obviously the game would be nothing without either, but the RTS element is more important.

Which, totally to brag in this topic, start out as the UK, destroyed France, several nation-states, and most of Spain, and it's only 1722.

I agree with you, both games have their pluses and minuses. And people like different games. I really do appreciate your opinion.
